2011 Guff Award Winners Announced

The Financial Times recently announced the winners of the 2011 Guff Awards. These annuals awards honor the worst uses of meaningless business-speak.
Highlights of the 2011 awards include:

The Sound and Fury Cup, awarded each year to the chief executive who makes a public pronouncement signifying nothing: This year's winner was Cisco’s John Chambers, who announced: “We will accelerate our leadership across our five priorities and compete to win in the core.”

Worst Euphemism for Firing People: This award goes to Nokia, which last year announced that 17,000 people were being laid off by saying that its operations were being “managed for value”.

Golden Flannel Award, given for utter gibberish: The winner is Manpower Group, for the following description of itself. “Our $22 billion company creates unique time to value through a comprehensive suite of innovative solutions that help clients win in the Human Age.”
